EATING: Rose Pistola (http://www.rosepistolasf.com/)

The Scene:  Inspired by the Liguria region of Italy’s Northern coast with its artful simplicity and fresh, local ingredients, Rose Pistola is a tribute to North Beach – San Francisco’s vibrant Italian quarter. Named after a local resident and denizen who ran the most colorful bar and restaurant in the neighborhood, Rose Pistola is a stylish trattoria, personifying the vibrancy of its namesake that has been seducing guests in the bustling North Beach neighborhood since it first opened in 1996. Rose Pistola seamlessly blends seasonal, local products with the Italian philosophy of letting the ingredients speak for themselves.

EATING: Betelnut (http://www.betelnutrestaurant.com/)

The Scene:  For hundreds of years in the bustling cities and fragrant harbors of Asia a favorite and familiar place to savor distinctive local dishes has been the side street beer house, or pejiu wu. Here, large mugs of beer complement emphatically fresh and tantalizing “street food” made with fresh local ingredients and regional spices that tend to be on the hotter side.
Dick Baney’s favorite restaurant– comes here every single time he is in SF!

SUNDAY

WINERY ESTATE TOUR: Ladera Vineyards (http://www.laderavineyards.com)

The Scene:  This is Ladera “Take 2” for us (we were cancelled on over 4th of July weekend, which fortunately allowed us to find O’Shaughnessy!!!!)
Ladera Vineyards is the home of estate grown and produced hillside Cabernet Sauvignon focused primarily on our two designated wines, the Howell Mountain Appellation Cabernet and the Lone Canyon Vineyard Cabernet. Behind these fine wines is our historic 1886 restored and renovated stone winery and underground barrel caves.
Ladera is fortunate to own two exceptional yet very different Napa Valley vineyards. Each gives us its own variation of powerful, intense mountain fruit. Winemaking at Ladera is like being the parents of two extremely bright, talented, and dissimilar children: our job is to bring out their best qualities and prepare them to go out into the world.
For those looking for something special, the Estate Tour is an intimate and comprehensive experience of the LADERA story from dirt to table. Hear about our history as you walk through the vineyard. Learn about our gravity flow winemaking techniques as we invite you inside our restored 1886 stone winery. Enjoy the cool air of our wine caves and then share the best from our Estate Vineyards in our private Great Room. We look forward to hosting you.

WINERY TASTING: Jordan Winery (http://www.jordanwinery.com)

The Scene:  Jordan lies tucked in the the hills of the Alexander Valley in Sonoma County– one of the world’s finest winegrowing regions. We strive to place harmony the complexities of the terroir, the artistry of the cellar and the joys of the table.
In the comfort of our private Library, enjoy tastings of our current release Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Estate Grown Extra Virgin Olive Oil paired with artisan cheeses. You will also taste an older vintage Cabernet Sauvignon selected from our Library.
